Sherlowe Planning Application Update
The local paper, the Shropshire Star, has reported on the outcome of the Telford and Wrekin Council's decision on Sherlowe airstrip. This was the subject of an A4A Alert back in January. In the face of local opposition which presented a 300 signature petition and 60 letters of opposition the Council agreed the application to turn a piece of agricultural land into a 700 yard private strip. Approval is, however, limited, being for one year only and accompanied by "strict conditions" amongst which is a limit of just four movements per day.
